The Australian and New Zealand Journal of Dental and Oral Health Therapy – ANZJDOHT
The ANZJDOHT is the official journal of Australian Dental and Oral Health Therapist Association (ADOHTA) and Te Ohu Pūniho Ora o Aotearoa, the New Zealand Oral Health Association (NZOHA ) and is the product of a merge of the ADOHTA and NZDTA journals, both of which had been individually published for over 20 years prior to the merge.
First published in 2012, the ANZ Journal of Dental and Oral Health Therapy publishes research, current ideas, opinions and developments relating to the practice of dental and oral health therapy in Australia and New Zealand and internationally. The ANZJDOHT is the only international peer reviewed journal for the oral health therapy professions.
The journal is produced by an Editorial Board comprising members of faculty of each of the Bachelor of Oral Health programs in Australia and New Zealand and practising members of the professions with the assistance of a prestigious and diverse panel of academic and practitioner expert reviewers
Our content
The content is peer reviewed to ensure that the quality of published material meets the standards required by the dental and oral health therapy professions. We invite the submission of articles that reflect current practice, debate, research, innovations and challenges for the oral health therapy professions. Authors new to publishing are welcome to contact us for support in developing a manuscript.
Clinical case studies, book reviews, letters to the editor, essays of academic standard, literature and evidence reviews and original research articles are encouraged for submission to:

Authors are encouraged to submit original articles reflecting the journal objectives:
To provide a vehicle for communication between dental and oral health therapists in Australia and New Zealand
To develop dental and oral health therapists’ access to self-directed professional development
To provide a vehicle for the reporting of new learning and research in the field of dental and oral health therapy
To develop a published body of knowledge around the discipline of dental and oral health therapy, for dental and oral health therapists and the wider health care field
Subscriptions
Two issues of the journal are produced each year. Each financial member of Te Ohu Pūniho Ora o Aotearoa NZOHA and ADOHTA receives a copy of each ANZ Journal of DOHT as well as online access to all issues as a benefit of membership; join ADOHTA or NZOHA to receive your copy of each edition.

The ANZ Journal of Dental and Oral Health Therapy is available to Libraries through subscription and via EBSCO. Please contact the ANZJDOHT Administrative office for subscription information.
Journals are available free to NZOHA and ADOHTA members or by subscription, join NZOHA to receive this benefit.
The journal also includes a Noticeboard section promoting events and conferences of relevance to the dental and oral health therapy professions. Please contact us if you would like your event included.

Grants
Research and Postgraduate Study Grant
Background
The scholarship is to support oral health practitioners in exploring novel ideas related to our professions or succeeding in postgraduate education.
There are two rounds annually. The total maximum amount for the fund is up to $5,000.00 for each round.
Application deadline
First round: 1 April 16:00 NZST
Second round: 1 November 16:00 NZST
Each application will be discussed by the executive committee, and the fund up to $5,000.00 will be allocated based on the assessment outcome. The full amount of the proposed budget may not be granted.
The outcome will be communicated individually at the end of the application month.
Eligibility Criteria
The primary applicant must be a full member of the association who held the membership for the past two consecutive years.
The primary applicant must be the primary researcher (lead researcher) of the project OR;
The primary applicant must be enrolled in a postgraduate programme offered in New Zealand.
The research project should address the needs of the community for a research grant.
The primary candidate should not have received this funding in the same calendar year.
NB: Te Ohu Pūhino Ora o Aotearoa - NZ Oral Health Association are an organisation which supports oral health equity in Aotearoa New Zealand. Applications for postgraduate programmes which add the Adult Scope for Dental Therapists, or removal of restorative care for over 18 year-olds for oral health therapists will not be accepted at this time.

Any actual, potential, and perceived conflict of interest must be disclosed.
A successful candidate can only receive one funding for each year.
A successful candidate should submit the progress report by 1 October for the first grant round or 1 May of the following year for the second grant round. This will be used by the association to communicate with the members.
A successful candidate should acknowledge the association in any meaningful way.
A successful candidate should consider submitting a manuscript to the Australian and New Zealand Journal of Dental and Oral Health Therapy (ANZJDOHT).
A successful candidate should be prepared to present the outcome via webinar to NZOHA members.
