Northland Branch Report September 2013

It's been a very busy year for CPD, lots happening in our immediate area Northland, also in Auckland. Which means many of us have a surplus of CPD. Back in early July, we were all sent an email headed, Enquiries, from the Dental Council warning us of the impending end of the CPD cycle on the 31 of Dec 2013. There is an attachment that tells you exactly what you have to send in by the 20th of January, in your signed Schedual. Only if you are being audited do you have to send in everything from your CPD file.

During our AGM at the conference in Nelson our new secretary of the Exect Committee was voted in, her name is Julie Williams from our Northland Branch. Thankyou Julie for offering your time to do this for us all.

It's a bit soon but already I have found a replacement to be our new Chairperson in the new year. Jess Korach, thank you Jess.

Julie and Jess along with our President Caron are all in the photo below. We were all waiting at Nelson airport terminal for our flights home from the Nelson conference.

I wish to thank Paula Palmer a local Nelson hygienist for doing a mega job organising the best Hygiene Conference I have ever been to. She used local dentists and specialists to speak, introduced the speaker and thanked them. Paula organised The Girls Day Out too. It was fun racing around in the mini van in and out of shops, craft shops and winery's what a great day and the weather was perfect.

The Dental Expo in Auckland Viaduct was fantastic and put on by the Dental companies, what a lovely water front venue. The speakers were of a high standard and most importantly it was well attended because it was free. Lots of car parks nearby too. Any bigger and they will have to move to a bigger venue.

That is all from me for now.
